Ionian Collection of PCHL Corfu
The library has a collection of books, offprints, brochures, newspapers, and magazines related to the history, art, culture, and social life of the residents of Corfu and the Ionian Islands. The collection includes works by:
- Authors originating from Corfu, regardless of whether they currently reside permanently on the island and regardless of the place of publication of their works.
- Authors who are not originally from Corfu but live and work on the island, regardless of the place of publication of their works.
Works that refer to Corfu and the Ionian Islands, regardless of the author’s origin, place of residence, or place of publication.
The collection’s materials are not available for loan. They are cataloged in the Library’s Online Catalog (OPAC) with the special designation “Ionian Collection”.
Depending on the physical condition of the item, it may be made available for on-site study upon request (a special form is available at the Circulation Desk).
The collection originates from purchases and donations.
It is reminded that according to Government Gazette B 1173 – 20.08.2003 and Government Gazette B 637 – 06.04.2009, it is mandatory by law for authors, publishers, or printers from any region to provide materials to Public Libraries.
